Heck even just clicking &quot;View Available Networks&quot; will show what is around you.  Netstumbler will tell you what channel they are using and what the noise level is for each of them.
Just be aware connecting to any network with out permission is illegal in the US, Canada, and the UK! Just do a quick search for Wifi Theft to see!
