I do not have a wireless router. I am looking for a virtual AP or soft AP program to turn my laptop into an AP. Is that possible? Just want some wireless for my iphone… Thanks!!!

If you are using Windows, then you can use the built-in ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Instructions are contained in my source links.

if you’re running windows you can plug you’re computer via ethernet and share your network connection. and create a adhoc (computer to computer) network.
